The other who did, however, took delight in posing with me for photos. The public's reaction to my costume was outstanding! Many were genuinely creeped out and there were even some who wouldn't dare approach me. Besides, you can be any of those other things during the rest of the year. I take pride in being scary for Halloween because as fun as it would be to be cute, funny and/or clever in costume, the scary ones represent the spirit of the holiday the best. I wore this to the annual street party downtown, accompanied, as usual, by my sister and her husband, who also dressed up as demons. I found a fur-like fabric at the shop to give my demon a satyr-like vibe, and added it to my wrists, ankles, and waist simply by wrapping it around and tucking it in. I added a bit of red paint on the exposed bits to match my "skin". My claws are essentially pieces of cardboard, twist ties and electrical tape over long "witches" gloves from the dollar store. The horns are also paper maché and were attached to the mask with cloth and some black elastic strips to fit over my head. My mask was handmade out of paper maché and painted with acrylics.
